My daughters birthday was 12/7 and we hit 2 local yarn shops. It seems I have a yarn shop in my basement, so I contained myself to just a few...two Noro, one Fiesta, two Bamboo. Plus two new knitting needles not in the pic.I saw the neatest scarf at one of the shops. It was a fan and feather, but done with scraps of yarn. It must of had 30 different yarns in it, but looked great. I think I may have to try that with my left over skeins.

I've done a feather and fan with a conglomeration of yarns and it looks really cool. For something differet, cast on lengthways (so 200+ stitches). Gotta run, I have a moaning pug under my chair.
